Cognitive disorders

We provide care for individuals experiencing various forms of dementia. The process begins with an initial assessment, which includes taking a detailed medical history and conducting appropriate, often extensive investigations such as brain scans. As part of this assessment, we may ask you and a partner, close family member, or next of kin to complete a questionnaire to gather more information.

It is particularly helpful if someone who knows you well—such as a spouse, close family member, or friend—is able to attend the consultation with you or join via phone. This person can offer valuable insight into the nature and progression of any concerns. Bringing written examples of situations that highlight the issues you’re facing can also be useful during the consultation.

The appointment may include a cognitive evaluation, so please remember to bring your reading glasses if needed. Additionally, any information about your family’s history of cognitive disorders can be important in guiding our assessment. In some cases, we may refer you for further neuropsychological evaluation to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
